Ty Blaidd (translated means Wolf House) is situated in one of the most idyllic spots in one of the most beautiful valleys in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. Ty Blaidd provides a fantastic base for exploring the local area as guests can spend the day visiting attractions or partaking in outdoor activities and have comfortable and restful accommodation to return to where they can reflect on the days experiences.

Snowdonia is famed for its stunning scenery of majestic mountains, deep blue lakes, magnificent coastlines, green forests with hidden streams and waterfalls and rolling green valleys.

Due to the abundance of these wonderful gifts of mother nature, the area is a Mecca for outdoor activity enthusiasts. Walking, climbing, cycling, kayaking, horse riding and many further specialised activities take place almost everywhere.

There are many additional attractions in the area which draw in the visitors; ruined and open castles, narrow gauge steam railways (including a train ride to the top of Snowdon,) National Trust properties and gardens, Zoo’s and animal parks, traditional seaside resorts, slate mine museums and tourist mines and pretty towns and villages.

Penmachno itself has a lot to offer the visitor. There are beautiful walks which start from the front door of Ty Blaidd, Horse Riding close by and the famous new mountain bike trails in the Gwydyr forest all within easy reach of your accommodation.

Just 4 miles away lies the charactered village of Betws-y-Coed with an array of pubs, restaurants, bistros and shops selling groceries, gifts and arts and crafts and souveniers. Also here is the post office and tourist information, and the train and bus station. Many beautiful walks and further bike trails also start from Betws-y-Coed. The beauty of staying at Ty Blaidd is that guests can enjoy this little bustling town but can come away from the noise in the evening to relax in the tranquillity and beautiful scenery of Penmachno.
